IT Administrator Placement Student
Key Responsibilities:
- IT support in a Helpdesk environment
- Software support to Gordons Chemists employees
- Software configuration on user PC’s and Servers
- Hardware support to Gordons Chemists employees
- Hardware configuration
- Configuration of Smartphones
- Network configuration
- Network support
- To Assist with IT related project work
- To liaise and assist Tier 2 support
- To liaise and assist the IT Manager
Essential Requirements:
- Currently studying a graduate course in a computing or IT related discipline
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook etc.
- Excellent working knowledge of PC hardware and Microsoft desktop operating systems (Windows 10).
- Highly developed telephone etiquette, good reporting and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexible to travel to branches/access to transport
Desirable Criteria:
- Awareness or working knowledge of client server environment and networking configuration.
- Awareness or working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems (MS Windows Server 2008R2, 2012, 2016 2019)
- Awareness or working knowledge of VPN, VLAN and WLAN
- Awareness or working knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Awareness or working knowledge of virtualization technologies e.g. VMware ESXi
- Awareness or working knowledge of WIFI
- Experience in retail
Location/Hours:
Head Office, 74 Scarva Road, Banbridge BT32 3QD / 40 Hours - Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm
Duration:
The duration of student placement is one year and expected to commence week commencing 11 August 2025.
